Hydraulic tailstock units have a rigid cast iron body with a precision tapered roller bearing mounted trunion. Fingertip control is all that is needed to open and close chucks, vises or dedicated type tooling setups. It can be supplied with an integral internal brake for a rigid rotational trunion lockup during machining operations.

The tailstock unit mounts to one end of the Quadraulic™ Vise. Tailstocks can be made for either right- or left-hand use. The four valves for working the jaws on each face of the Quadraulic™ Vise are mounted on the operator side of the tailstock unit. The tailstock can be ordered with or without an automatic internal hydraulic trunion brake. The internal brake could be synchronized and operated directly through input from the CNC controller.
