PROHOLD® fixtures, both horizontal and vertical, provide multiple-jaw, self-centering, OD and ID chucking, as well as 2-Jaw vise capability. There are an infinite number of configurations possible with the PROHOLD® system. PROHOLD® provides easy changeover for large or small repetitive production runs by utilizing a set of dedicated or special soft jaws for each part to be machined. No need to "touch-up" anymore with a PROHOLD®. The jaws will be in the exact location they were the last time they were used to hold the part being machined. Just install the jaws, download the part program to the controller, load the part and start the machining cycle.

The internal drive mechanism of each PROHOLD® chucking station provides for the unobstructed use of the full face of each side of the fixture, giving you the choice of using a vise or a chuck on each clamping station. Standard configurations on the master jaw faces allow for the use of commercially available hard or soft jaws. Different mounting systems (serration, keyed, etc.) can be installed as desired on the master jaws.
PROHOLD® can also be manufactured to accommodate standard modular fixturing components on any number of the faces. Modular fixturing components can be used alone or simultaneously with the integral chucking stations. On hydraulic PROHOLD® models, modular hydraulic clamping components can get their hydraulic pressure supplied directly from the internal built-in PROHOLD® hydraulic system.

When the PROHOLD® fixture is permanently aligned and secured on the machine tool pallet, the PROHOLD® provides you with a permanent, repeatable, zero-baseline grid off the chucking centerlines, making programming quick and easy with stationary X, Y and Z coordinates. This is the beauty of the PROHOLD® system. Internal components are hardened and sealed to protect them from foreign matter (chips, coolant, etc.). All exposed surfaces are finished in black oxide and gold anodizing.

Contoured soft jaws in vises

PROHOLD® fixtures are available for all shapes and sizes of parts to be machined. Irregular contours can be machined into full-surround soft jaws to hold castings or other non-round workpieces. Long workpieces, like shafts and tubes, can be passed through the center of the PROHOLD®.
Horizontal PROHOLD® fixtures come with a removable baseplate design so that the PROHOLD® fixture can be mounted on any size pallet, inch or metric.

Your requirements dictate the design of the PROHOLD® fixturing system. Every PROHOLD® can be configured to hold a wide variety of parts. Production of parts has generally doubled where PROHOLD® fixtures have been implemented. Finished part and part-to-part accuracy has been increased with a requisite decrease in scrap rates. Fewer machines are needed to run the same volume for a geometric family of parts.
